In the footsteps of Aeolus
Alain Burlot's passion for wind power took shape when he was an intern in the Laboratory of Fluid Mechanics of the Ecole Polytechnique.
Later, Alain Burlot was a consultant in renewable energy for private consulting firms: He is at the origin of the projects of Seclin-Phalempin AQUASCOPE and at the origin of the creation of the CITY OF RENEWABLE from La Rochelle - Rochefort.
In 2003, he found that wind small / medium capacity for self consumption, was a promising market where the technology was low innovative and offered unattractive yields.
6 years were devoted to the design of a new generation of vertical axis wind turbine with high efficiency, innovations that were the subject of two patents. For this it relied on various research centers, including ENSM Douai (Laboratory for Industrial Energy Systems), Laboratory of Electricity and power electronics from the Ecole Centrale de Lille and Polytech'Lille.
In December 2007, the apple-wind S.A.S. has been created, and in 2008 the prototype called AW 12.5 was presented to the public.
Apple-wind obtained the label of OSEO Innovative.
Today, apple-wind was joined by collaborators and investors with great experience and professional performances in the world of industry and services and all passionate about the issues facing the green economy and preserving the planet.
